Ethiopian Innovation Lots 2023: Pre-Auction Cuppings in Seoul and Kyoto

This year, Catalyst Trade, in partnership with M-Cultivo, will be holding its first online auction for innovation lots. Slated to take place on Aug. 1, the auction will feature a wide variety of unique, high-scoring innovation lots dreamt up and processed by our talented team in collaboration with several of our long-time producer partners in Ethiopia.

Following successful pre-auction cuppings in Portland, OR, Catalyst Trade will bring the cuppings to Seoul, South Korea and Kyoto, Japan this May! Both cuppings will be conducted primarily in English, and guests must RSVP to attend.

Join us at Bean Brothers—Hapjeong in Seoul on May 22 or at Kurasu Ebisugawa in Kyoto, Japan on May 27! (Register below).

15 prospective buyers will have the opportunity to sample exclusive fresh crop coffees, featuring innovative fermentation techniques and oxygen limitations, as well as several new-to-market processing methods. There will be 12 auction coffees on the table. The cuppings will be begin promptly at 7 p.m.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with Chris Casassa of Catalyst Trade, who will share information about the unique processing methods used in this newest round of innovation lots in Ethiopia and how buyers can participate in the auction.
